UCLA gymnastics and volleyball players will begin the 2018-19 season with two classes.
The team is scheduled to take on UCD in their first home-and-home series.
The two teams will begin in the spring.
The UC Irvine squad consists of five freshmen, five sophomores, and six juniors.
The team will have seven full-time gymnasts and three half-time members.UCI junior Emily Cogswell, who was the first UC Irvine player to graduate from the university, said she was excited about the upcoming season.
She said, “We are very excited and honored to play on the team of the nation’s best.
It will be fun to see how we play in this game.”UCLA sophomore Hannah McBride said she had a lot of fun playing on the UC Irvine team last season.”
It’s exciting to be part of this team that’s already been around for a little while,” McBride, a senior, said.
“They’re definitely going to be great and I can’t wait to see what they do in the future.”UCI senior Katie Smith, a sophomore, said that the players were looking forward to playing on campus.
“Being able to play at UC Irvine is awesome,” Smith said.
