NEW YORK — New footage of gymnastics’ first ever gold medalist in the Olympics has been released on YouTube.
In a video posted to YouTube on Thursday, the 24-year-old Londoner, who was not named, can be seen in the final moments of the women’s 400m freestyle final in Rio de Janeiro before the Russian gymnast’s hand caught hers.
A video of the final shows the Londoner being helped off the podium, where she collapsed to the ground and lay motionless for a few seconds.
Her head was resting on her chest and her feet were down, a sign that she was not feeling well.
The video ends with her face and head being shown to the camera.
